In mid-July I had the opportunity to teach in Spain at Berklee’s campus in Valencia, Spain. It was my first trip there, and I was excited about going there and also a little worried about the heat and humidity (which, it turns out, was about as bad as NYC and Boston were concurrently).
Not a whole lot to report, just a whole lot of photos to share. For starters, the surrounding buildings:
The buildings were all designed by Santiago Calatrava, a Valencia native. Every day, I would walk to Berklee from my hotel and feel like I was in an episode of Star Trek (which, incidentally, I believe was filmed here at one point).
The first Friday concert featured the faculty. We opened the set with my tune “Copper Tone”. The photographer somehow caught me cuing the end of the set mid-air!
The faculty consisted of both Boston and Valencia-based faculty. We had such a wonderful time together!
I’m back in NYC now preparing for the upcoming semester. Time flies.
